The Seven Thousand Doors (2018) - 70’
Perhaps the first documentary film about Coimbra´s University Hospital (Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra). A film about this hospital, about this art object: a sum of techniques and gestures that, as the Xerazade narratives, or the Antonius Block chess, try, in an endless movement of opening and closing doors, to outwit the arrow of time. The film shows the elemental movements of this chess game. The hospital in the nude: the spaces, the gestures, the sounds, and the characters that are beyond the discourses that often capture the way we gaze into this hospital. I believe that much of what the film shows will not exist in 5 years: the intensive work, the scale, and even the freedom I had to film will be difficult to maintain in a context of healthcare focused on the strict numerical quantification of results.
The central building of the Coimbra Hospital and University Center as an art object, as an expression of a culture; this is the proposal of this film.

Inês Vaz and Pedro Santos revisit one of the most iconic and well-known works of the composer and the Baroque era, in a transcription that they made for two accordions. Originally composed by Vivaldi for violin and orchestra, it runs through 4 concertos (with three movements each as well as described by the respective sonnet), illustrative of those images and feelings that are inspired by each season of the year.
