In Portugal, for almost half a century, the PIDE/DGS was the fear machine that fueled the power of Salazar/Caetano's Estado Novo. Along with the board of inspectors and effective agents, the political police resorted to the services of “informers”. The ordinary citizen turned whistleblower, diluting himself with the intention of watching to denounce. And so the informer became an omnipresent figure. Between denunciations and denounced, O MEDO À ESPREITA builds a memory of fear and of a country where living was living under surveillance.

Arawake Theater's "Titiriscopio" is a magical box that replicates in miniature, at 1:35 scale, the Main Theater of Burgos. Inside, performances are carried out using various puppet techniques that coexist on stage with holograms thanks to a live actor/manipulator. They can be seen by eight people per pass through different visual conduits as periscopes. Each show is a true brief theater performance that combines music, storytelling, fine arts and, in the case of puppets, the magic of giving life to inanimate figures and objects. Therefore, in this "Titiriscopio" you can enter the world of emotions typical of theater and symbolic worlds, full of metaphors of infinite poetry. In addition, the hologram projection system revolutionizes dramaturgy and allows what was previously impossible on stage. With this show the company has been present in many places in Spain and abroad.

This is how it is told to little ones who want to be grown-ups and grown-ups ones who want to be little. Because they are born in the mouth of those who tell and grow in the ears of those who listen, tales have no age... and they ask me to be told!
MARTA PESSOA was born in Lisbon, in 1974. She studied cinema (Image and Directing) at the Superior School of Theater and Cinema and Communication Sciences at FCSH-UNL. She has worked as a Director of Photography on documentaries and feature films. Winner on the Amnesty International Special Prize at the IndieLisboa festival in 2015.
ARAWAKE is a multidisciplinary group that stands out since its inception for the innovation of its proposals and the ability to implement technology in its shows with the aim of generating new narrative forms, increasing the expressive tools of the performer on stage and thus achieving all audience types. 21st century theater for all types of audience.
