Fardo I Peripécia Teatro

Conversations in the eyes with David Rebordão
CINEMA AND CONVERSATION

July 26th / Casa Família Oliveira Guimarães, Espinhal / 9.30pm

Duration approx. 60 min, 16+
Moderated by Renato Barroso

A Curva
The Curve follows Tânia, Tiago, and David — the latter who is filming and testing out his new camera — as they pick up a hitchhiker, Teresa, who is suspiciously standing on the side of the road wearing a plain white dress.

O Assalto
In an isolated rural house, Dona Maria is doing the housework. She sweeps the floor with some effort, as her old age has sapped her vigor. Suddenly two men storm her house, demanding that she hand over all her money...

Killies
Killies is a new concept of ultra-violent entertainment.
Muppet-Face is the author and host of this gruesome show.
He thoroughly prepared everything to make his work an unforgettable one. A well thought-out plan containing all the necessary ingredients for a bloodbath broadcasted in livestream so everyone can watch.
Prepare to be shocked.

Your Turn
A desperate woman runs through the forest, apparently chased by a guy. In the middle of nowhere, she finds a farmhouse that looks abandoned, where she looks for something or someone, to appease her affliction. A surprising discovery will turn victims into villains in a game of mirrors in which truth can only be an illusion.

Jogo Maldito
Mario is a failed artist waiting for an opportunity that will never come. His marriage with Leonor is nothing but a means to maintain his lifestyle, and she can't get rid of him because her family's tradition of conjugal fidelity doesn't allow her to end the sacred union. On a cold Sunday morning, they play a game of Scrabble, a game that quickly starts to materialise their frustrations. It turns out to be a mental challenge that can lead to murder, as they find out that the game can be damned.

Fardo is a winter creation, a peculiar Carnival. An amusement about death until spring arrives.
The wooden masks from the Lazarim Carnival are the starting point for this show. The creation is based on the theatrical game of the mask, which is also ancestral and originates in the most primitive rites of humanity and para-theatrical rituals, allowing for the construction of a show with a tremendously poetic and universal character.
The masks are explored as almost magical elements, which seem to make us find, under the humus of our culture, the seed of an ancestral and vibrant imaginary that seems to germinate in the bodies of the men who wear them and blossom on their heads in a spontaneous and surprising way.

DAVID REBORDÃO felt that his life would only be complete if he could entertain people
He started with the theater, because at the time television and cinema seemed inaccessible and the theater group was right at hand. In the theater he experimented with all areas, acting, set design, lighting design and production.
He left the theater under family pressure to study law. He only attended one year, as he decided it wasn't the life for him.
He took his first course at the Technical School of Image and Communication where he opted for the specialty of Eng Reporter, and a few years later, he took the Director's course at the same school and set off on his greatest adventure, making a feature film in Portugal.
As the task wouldn't be easy or immediate, he began his journey by doing various jobs in advertising, institutional work, music videos and short films.
One of these works gained worldwide prominence, the famous video "A Curva", also known as "A fantasma de Sintra". Millions of people watch the video, get scared, comment, discuss and satirize it. It has become a global phenomenon.
He was given the opportunity to try and achieve his dream and decided to write the feature film RPG - Real Playing Game, which was produced a few years later and was his great Dream Come True.
Throughout this journey, he tried to learn new tools, such as editing and writing.
In 2007, his career as a director was launched and he worked for several years on a wide variety of formats, gaining the ability to work with tight budgets, where his skills as an editor often came in very handy when working as a director.
All for the love of entertainment.

PERIPÉCIA TEATRO was founded in 2004 and is based in the village of Coêdo, in the municipality of Vila Real. It is funded by the Portuguese Government, DGArtes.
In more than a decade and a half of activity, it has continued to present its work in countless theatres, independent halls, festivals and squares in towns and villages. Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, France and Cape Verde are the countries where our creations have been presented.
