CITIZENSHIP AND ACTIVE AGEING

During the program, we open space for discussions at the intersection of several themes of society with Active Ageing. At the round table with Paula Oliveira Guimarães, Rosa Araújo, Rosário dos Reis, Edite Simões, Fernando Antunes and Delphim Miranda come to talk about Citizenship and Active Ageing.

Paula Oliveira Guimarães
Jurist, with intervention in the area of human rights and social economy.

Rosa Araújo 
Founder and current President of the National Board of the Associação Coração Amarelo 

Graduated in Social Service with a Top Management Specialization in Public Management, she has performed throughout her professional career several functions always linked to Social Services, Social Policies and Intervention with Families.
She was Director of the Lisbon District Center of the Institute of Social Security, IP; Director of the Department of Social Services of the Lisbon Municipality, Member of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Social Development; Deputy General Director of Social Services of the Ministry of Solidarity and Social Security; Coordinator of the Technical Support Unit of the National Council for the Promotion of Volunteering; Coordinator of the Management Committee of the Integrated Support Program for the Elderly; Director of the magazine Lisboa Acção Social; President of the Open City Commission; Representative of Social Security in the Social Network and in the National Network for Integrated Continued Care.
She was a teacher in the scope of Post-Graduates in the area of Social Service and Gerontology. She has also given training to professionals and volunteers in the areas of Aging and Autonomy, Social Development, Volunteering and Associations. She has performed other professional and volunteer functions in IPSS and ONGD, in the areas of Health and Children and Youth.

Rosário dos Reis 
President of the National Board of Alzheimer Portugal

Degree in Law, Mention Legal Sciences, Faculty of Law, Lisbon. Along with her professional activity as a lawyer she has been practising since 1987, focusing on Civil, Family, Labor and Commercial Law. Since 2005 she represents Alzheimer Portugal at Alzheimer Europe. 
She has actively participated in several European projects led by Alzheimer Europe and funded by the European Commission, of which we highlight the Lawnet I, II and III projects which result in comparative analyses, contained in annual publications, on topics such as: capacity and capacity assessment, guardianship regimes, use of restraint measures, informed consent, decisions for the future (living wills), among others. In Portugal, as an IEFP certified trainer, she has focused on the training of family caregivers and professionals of people with dementia, focusing on the issues of informed consent and ways to overcome disability.

Fernando Antunes 
Purveyor of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Penela

An inescapable name in Penela's and the region's life, he was challenged, still during his graduation at Coimbra's Law Faculty, to head the "PPD/PSD" list for the Penela's Municipal Assembly, ending up as the president of this municipal body. It was the launching pad, and at only 30 years of age he became mayor. He was a driving force of the associative movement in the region, such as the creation in which he was involved, among others, of the association of municipalities ADSICÓ, today, Terras de Sicó Development Association.
He was Civil Governor in Coimbra, Deputy in the Assembly of the Republic and in 2007, the Penela Chamber decided to award him the Municipality's Medal of Political and Social Merit. In 2021, besides the leadership of the general assembly of the Voluntary Firemen of Penela, he also embraced the project of the purveyor of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia.

Delphim Miranda was born in Lisbon, is a Taurus because he was born on May 17, 1847, a year of good harvest. However... of the many things he has been doing over the last 7 decades, his son André ... André Delfim was undoubtedly the most important. Having attended the Painting Course at the Fine Arts Superior School of Lisbon, he taught Visual Education and Visual and Technological Education in official teaching for more than forty years.

After having experimented with the most diverse forms of communication, such as Cartoons, Comics, Animation Cinema, Painting, Illustration, Performance/Intervention, it is in Theater that he settles down, in the areas of Scenography, Costume Design, Props, and as an Actor and Author. Discovering in Teaching, the Fantastic World of Puppetry, as a work unit capable of involving its students in all expressive areas, he specialized in this Art. He then puts together his own shows, in which he acts with his puppets, telling stories of his own, travelling the country and beyond and participating in national and international theater festivals.

He is represented at the Puppet Museum in Lisbon, with the Puppets from the animation show “Cavaleiros de Uma Távola Qualquer”. Lately, he crafted Puppets for the Great Actors, Maria do Céu Guerra and Luís Miguel Sintra, to manipulate in their shows.
