Paula Oliveira Guimarães is a lawyer, working in the area of human rights and social economy.
Elena Durán
Born in Jaén (Andalucía, España). She is an advocate of equal opportunities for people well-being.
Passionate about Social Entrepreneurship, she founded 55+ to recognize the value of those who have a lifetime experience to offer to their community!
Elena Durán holds a degree in Management, Marketing and Communication from the University of Málaga and the European Business School of Salamanca. She later moved to Portugal — a country she now considers home — where she developed her career over eight years at Unilever Portugal.
In 2018, driven by the conviction that longevity is an opportunity, she founded 55+, with the mission of recognising and valuing the experience of people aged 55 and over, who are often invisible due to lack of opportunities. Her work focuses on combating ageism and creating sustainable solutions that simultaneously address the needs of inactive older adults (due to unemployment or retirement) and the needs of families requiring day-to-day support.
Her work has been recognised internationally, including: Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise 2023, awarded by Euclid Network, with the support of the European Commission and Google.org. and Ashoka Fellow, an international recognition granted by Ashoka — a global network that identifies and supports social entrepreneurs with the potential to drive systemic change — for the innovative and transformative impact of the 55+ model.
