ENCONTREI O PARAÍSO MAS JÁ NÃO ME LEMBRO BEM DO CAMINHO - 5’
Filmed in Super8, "I found paradise, but I can't remember the way anymore" is a visual diary about a trip to Chapada Diamantina. After a period of work in a metropolis like São Paulo, and experiencing a delicate family situation from a distance, the contrast with the dazzling nature of that green area of Bahia proved to be a catalyst.

MUSIC
Celina da Piedade
July 3rd Casa Família Oliveira Guimarães (outdoors), Espinhal I 6:30 pm
4th of July on the edge of the village, Chanca* I 6:30 pm

Approx. duration: 60 min

Cante Alentejano is a polyphonic vocal practice from southern Portugal, recognized as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2014.

It has always served as a vehicle for expressing a strong social conscience. At the same time, it is a practice that, due to its collective and voluntary nature, helps to keep alive, within the communities in which it operates, the notion that cohesion (of all voices) is essential to the maintenance of the social fabric!

Celina da Piedade is a musician and researcher. She has dedicated much of her work to researching and disseminating the Alentejo's musical heritage.

In this get-together, she will present some of the many “rural songs” / “modas” that make up the Alentejo songbook, show the main musical and poetic characteristics of this vocal practice and, above all, make everyone experience with their united voices the strength of Cante!

* in Chanca, conditioned access, not recommended for people with reduced mobility

Celina da Piedade, anyone who has seen her in concert recognizes her immense charisma. Celina da Piedade has been carrying her accordion and her voice to the most different contexts, somewhere between the traditional shapes and colours, on journeys through the memories of portuguese rooted music and a more modern and universalist feeling. She draws music full of soul and personality, which, on stage, wins with her formidable presence.
